Current Deodorant Favorites

My deodorant was one of the first things I switched when I started being more health conscious. It was out of sheer curiosity that I bought one from the health food store where I worked. It was okay. Nothing mind blowing. Especially since a lot of the times when adjusting to a new deodorant you just kind of smell. There’s no two ways around it. Since then I feel like I’ve been ever searching for that holy grail-where have you been all my life- deodorant. You know the one, it feels good, smells good, keeps you fresh for as long as humanly possible.
Well, I think I found it. Maybe even two!

Schmidt’s Bergamot and Lime Deodorant* has become my holy grail of deodorants. Why you ask? First off it smells incredible! It’s fresh and citrusy with out smelling like straight up limes. Secondly it works! I’ve had some crazy stressful days in the past couple months and Schmidt’s has kept me super fresh. Their formula seems to have the right mix of ingredients to fight odor but does not cause me to break out in a rash like other baking soda based deodorants. Third, the price is amazing! Eight dollars. I’ve had this jar for 2+ months and I’m not even halfway into it. That’s totally worth it in my mind. I will be so repurchasing this and can’t wait to try some of their other fun scents!

The second deodorant pictured above is a little gem I keep in my makeup bag. North Coast Organics’ Death by Lavender* is my favorite deodorant for traveling with me once I leave the house. It’s a really lovely formula that takes care of business but like Schmidt’s it doesn’t irritate the skin. This smells heavy of lavender so if you’re not fan I would check out Revolver* which is a more woodsy/spicy blend. Either way you can’t go wrong with a mini deodorant in a twist up stick! I feel like that is hard to find in a natural deodorant. North Coast Organics is also USDA certified organic which makes this formula even better. If you’re an on the go type you might just need to have this mini deodorant in your life!

Have you tried either of these brands?

Summer Body Moisturizers

IMG_2963

Moisturizing your limbs in the summertime can be somewhat daunting. Some moisturizers and oils are too light, some are too heavy. This trio of products I’ve found to be “just right” for summer. Moisturizing enough to take care of sun dried limbs but light enough that you don’t feel sticky or tacky throughout the day.

HollyBeth Organics Lemon Lime Shea Butter – This is a 3 ingredient wonder! Shea butter, lemon & lime. That’s it! The texture of this cream is unlike other shea butters I’ve tried. It’s a very smooth texture that sinks into skin nicely. The lemon lime scent is perfectly summer too! It’s definitely peaked my interest about other HolllyBeth products.
Osmia Organics Light Body Oil* – This oil is lovely. The scent is a little citrus, a little green. I like this one before bed as I find it very calming. The oil feels very nourishing on the skin but doesn’t leave a heavy film. My skin drinks it up! I’ve got my eye on a full size of it.
Lina Hanson Global Body Serum* – Serum is a great description of this product. It’s very light and easily absorbed. The scent is gorgeous! If there was a perfume of it I’d be layering these daily. It’s a beautiful blend of grapefruit and vanilla. This one is also on my wishlist!

Using the body oils has been amazing for my skin. I’m a total convert! Do you have any other body oil recommendations?

Nourish Exfoliating Body Polish –

I love scrubs of all types. So when I saw this one from Nourish on special at Ulta I decided to give it a try. I’ve loved everything else I’ve bought from them. Unfortunately this product did not live up to the high standards that the other products had set for it. Total disappointment. I can tell you that this will not be on any lists for repurchasing. And I know I talk about the smell in the video but can we reflect on it for a moment? Corn? Really Nourish?! Anyways I digress.

Please let me know of any of your favorite body scrubs.
Any and all recipes or products ideas are totally welcome.
Thanks for stopping by!

**Also, I swear that “y’all” is not part of my everyday vocabulary.
Don’t know where that came from**

Nourish Organic Body Lotion

On a recent trip to ULTA I scored this Nourish Organic Body Lotion in Almond Vanilla. I’d been looking at the Nourish product line recently and was pleasantly surprised to find it close to home. I was pretty sure I’d have to order it. NW Ohio isn’t exactly a green beauty mecca. Anyways back to the lotion. I debated between this and the body butter but decided that I wanted something that would hydrate but absorb quickly. So far this does the trick. It goes on great and leaves my skin hydrated all day without ever feeling oily or sticky. The Almond Vanilla scent is nice and warm without being overpowering.
I would definitely recommend this if you happen to stumble upon it like I did!
